Stay At Home Mommies

Just to let all you stay at home mommies know, I have been laid off this winter.  My daughter is 2 years old, we are learning how to use the potty, trying to learn colours, and numbers and ABC's.  I love my daughter to death, but seriously stay at home mommying is not as it seems.  I'm sure to all you working mothers it would be a dream to be at home with  your child all the time.  It is not.  I really do enjoy the time I get with her in the winter since it is only for about 2 months, but I would never be able to be a stay at home mom forever, IT IS HARD!!  I find all I do is clean, clean, laundry, laundry, say No, cook, cook.....so not for me, I love cooking so that is not bad but honestly there is only so much cleaning you can do, but when you are home, you create more mess, and you see the mess more, therefore you clean more, and it drives me crazy.  I find it hard to get Alice into a routine, where the babysitter I have is amazing.  All the kids know, you only have your drink in the kitchen, food in the dining room, toys in the living room.  She has specific times for book time, quiet time, any toy time, outside time, nap time, lunch time, snack time. Yet, when Alice is home it is like there is no structure because I have to get my stuff done, go here, go there, and of course Alice comes with me, I don't have a choice so her day gets thrown off.  I think kids need structure so I really do try my best, but I think Anne (my babysitter) certainly has structure down pat.
I guess I am trying to send out two messages here; to stay at home mommies, WOW, you women are amazing, you really have the toughest job!  To working mommies, you don't have to dream any more, trust me, not as it seems...lol
